We met on online and Jared still bugs me how I waited until the last hour to message him first. After our first date, the rest his history as we basically became inseparable. We drove from Missouri and Illinois multiple times a week just to see each other any chance we could. We bought our home after almost a year together. Several months later came our engagement and wedding planning. We started planning a large wedding, but neither of us enjoyed that process and I’ve always wanted to elope! This will be our first time in Colorado and we can’t wait to make so many memories there!"

About Grand County Weddings |
Grand County, Colorado is a great place for simple, small weddings weddings. It is easy to access from Denver and the Front Range (just a little over an hour drive) with many options to stay: Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Grandby and Grand Lake - which is the Western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. At the time that Christine and Jared reached out to us, they already had plans to stay in Grandby, but needed a wedding venue and recommendations to celebrate afterwards. With Grand Lake close by, we were able to create easy logistics so they could have a lakeshore wedding and then return to a restaurant near their loging for a post-wedding celebration dinner.

Christine and Jared wanted to maintain some traditions while also incorporating new ones as well. She chose to have a first-look with her dad, and also her fiancé before we loaded up the cars and caravanned to Grand Lake for their ceremony. Even though she had 17 guests, they opted t have a MOH and Best Man. And yes, we were able to setup #10 white folding chairs so that the elder family members could sit, and then the rest of the guests (friends) stood behind, making it an affordably sweet wedding where everyone felt included. Instead of having a traditional banquet-hall type of wedding venue "reception", we recommended a nearby restaurant in which they reserved a section for a semi-private celebration.... and of course the couple's cake-cutting tradition - yum!
