Kara + Wyatt's Story

Wyatt and Kara’s story began on an online dating site right at the start of the pandemic. They frequented Applebee’s (Wyatt’s favorite spot) for their first dates, and over time, their shared love of the outdoors and adventurous spirits knit them closer.  Wyatt and Kara traveled to Colorado several times a year, with Breckenridge being their first vacation destination together. Wyatt’s passion for hiking and Kara’s love of the Colorado scenery made their hearts set on this spot when it came to celebrating their new chapter. “Colorado holds a special place in both of us, and once engaged, we knew we wanted to elope here and start our new journey in this beautiful place,” said Kara. ​

Finding the Perfect Ceremony Venue for a Small Wedding

Their wedding planning began with our “Ceremony Site Report,” a written consultation service where we curate venue recommendations built around your specific vision, budget, time of year, and group size. While Sapphire Point Overlook originally caught their eye, other amazing venues in Summit County better suited their intimate ceremony needs.  They ultimately chose a rustic and scenic spot near Frisco. The location felt personalized, affordable, and perfectly aligned with what they had imagined for their big day. ​

A Micro-Wedding Day to Remember

Basedon Wendee's expertise designing micro-wedding day logistics, each moment was thoughtfully orchestrated to keep things stress-free for Kara and Wyatt. Here’s how their special day unfolded with precision and love.

• Morning Preparations.  Kara and her bridal party had their hair & makeup done at Breckenridge Hair Company, ensuring her style perfectly complemented the laid-back, adventurous vibe of the ceremony.
• Photogrpaher & Coordinator arrivals.  Our photographer arrived to capture all the magical details—from the bridal prep shots to the couple’s emotional first look. Kara and Wyatt shared private vows during this moment, a touching display of their love before they joined their family.
  
• An Intimate Ourdoor Ceremony in the Mountains.  The ceremony took place at a serene Colorado location surrounded by mountain peaks and aspen trees that shimmered with golden hues of fall. Wyatt stood waiting alongside his groomsmen and the officiant as the bridal entrance began to heartfelt music. Kara walked down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with her dad by her side, creating an unforgettable emotional moment.   The couple exchanged vows in the presence of their closest family and friends. It was a beautiful celebration celebrated with “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors as their kiss + exit song.
• Post-Ceremony Celebrations.  After signing the marriage license and taking group photos, the couple and their wedding party explored stunning mountain areas to capture more breathtaking photos. The day ended with a small reception featuring a ceremonial cake cutting and intimate dinner at a local restaurant. ​

• Seasonal Magic: The ceremony was held in late September, the best time for Colorado’s stunning aspen colors. The golden leaves created a mesmerizing backdrop for both the ceremony and photos.
• Cake Design: The two-tiered mountain-themed cake perfectly matched their scenic vibe. It featured white mousse with whipped cream filling on the top tier and decadent chocolate buttercream on the bottom.
• Floral Touches: Their florals were effortlessly elegant, combining lush greenery like eucalyptus with laid-back, natural elements to highlight the surrounding outdoors. ​
