Megan and Tim’s Story

"We are Tim and Megan. We currently live in Omaha, Nebraska, but I grew up in Columbus, Nebraska, and Tim in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Tim and I met on on an online dating app in 2019. He caught my eye because his profile said, 'I hope you like bad boys, because I’m bad at everything,' and it made me laugh. He sounded like a big goofball—and I couldn’t wait. Three and a half years later, we own a home and even have a little pet family! We have two fluffy, smushy-faced cats and a bulldog. We both are a little more alternative in attitude and style—Tim is adapting to suburbia, but as a former roadie, it’s hurting his soul a little bit.  We wanted a small wedding because it’s more important to share our day with those we truly love and who know us as a couple, rather than doing a traditional wedding ‘for the show’ of it. We chose Colorado because we liked the idea of an outdoor destination wedding that family could still attend. Colorado is beautiful and just close enough! It’s also where we spent our first trip together, so we thought it would be the perfect way to throw it back."

Megan and Tim’s Wedding Day Timeline

Planning a flawless wedding day requires attention to detail, and our team ensured that everything from the cake delivery to the ceremony sequence flowed seamlessly. Here's what the day looked like:

• Morning Prep at the Vacation House.  Megan and Tim prepped with their loved ones at a nice vacation house, keeping the atmosphere laid-back and fun.​  Megan’s hair and makeup were done by a friend, and her dress, shoes, and jewelry were thoughtfully set out beforehand for easy photos.
  
• First Look and Timeless Details.  We coordinated a private first look for the couple in a quiet corner of the vacaiton house outside Colorado Springs, captured beautifully by their photographer.  Then after, guests were guided to the ceremony site with maps to ensure smooth transportation to the park.
• Intimate Ceremony at Garden of the Gods.  Megan walked down the aisle to “Concerning Hobbits” (piano version by Paul Hankinson), setting a whimsical, romantic tone for the ceremony. A close friend of the couple officiated their vows, a personal touch that Colorado's laws allow, and they sealed their love with “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen.
• Heartfelt Post-Ceremony Moments.  After the ceremony and group photos, Megan and Tim took private time to exchange personal vows with just the photographer present.   During that time, guests returned to the vacation house for drinks and appetizers while Megan and Tim explored the park for dreamy couple portraits.
• Meaningful Reception Back at the Vacaiton House. Back at the vacation rental, Megan and Tim cut their stunning two-tiered cake—a creative blend of black forest and lemon mousse flavors—and shared a first dance. With no speeches, the vibe remained casual yet heartfelt, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the night.

Stunning Florals and Decadent Cake

One of Megan and Tim’s top priorities was incorporating vibrant, playful florals into their day. Their flowers featured a mix of orange, dark purple, red, and pink, with a laid-back yet funky wildflower style. Floral collars for their dog, Roach, were an extra-special touch.  Their cake was as stunning as it was delicious. The two-tiered beauty featured Black Forest and Lemon Mousse layers, finished with a chocolate drizzle and fresh floral accents.
