From the vibrant fall colors of the Colorado Rockies to their intimate celebration, Stephanie and Dusty’s special day was a joy to see come together. Planning the Perfect Colorado Mountain Elopement

When Stephanie and Dusty reached out to us, they knew exactly what they wanted—a beautiful mountain setting to exchange their vows and create cherished family memories. Sapphire Point Overlook, with its panoramic views of Lake Dillon and the Gore Mountain Range, was their dream ceremony spot.

However, Sapphire Point is a coveted location for elopements, and reservations fill up quickly when it opens at exactly 6-monhts out.  To ensure all bases were covered, we helped them establish a nearby backup site, a necessity when planning an event at this competitive and unpredictable location.  Thanks to careful planning and guidance, Stephanie and Dusty secured their ideal time slot on their ideal date  🙌  .

They opted for our 2.5-hour hybrid elopement package, perfect for small, heartfelt celebrations. With just their two children and two aunts in attendance, Stephanie and Dusty were set for an intimate, unforgettable ceremony.

Stephanie and Dusty’s Elopement Day Timeline

Every moment of Stephanie and Dusty’s wedding day was planned with thought and care to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Here’s a glimpse into how we designed their special day:

• Morning preparation began at their Airbnb with hair and makeup by Heather Williams, while the couple’s videographer captured every detail.
• Photographer and coordinator arrival: The bride’s getting-ready space was thoughtfully prepped for detail shots, including her dress, shoes, and jewelry. There was excitement in the air as Stephanie prepared for her big moment.
• First Look: After finishing touches, Stephanie and Dusty shared an intimate first look, captured by the photographer, as a moment just for the two of them.  
• Ceremony at Sapphire Point Overlook: The couple’s two children led the processional with adorable signs, followed by Stephanie escorted down the trail to “All of Me” by John Legend. Their vows were heartfelt, and their sand ceremony symbolized the unity of their family.
• Post-ceremony celebrations: After exchanging vows, the couple popped some bubbly, and cut into their elegant cake. They ended the ceremony with family photos set against the stunning backdrop of the fall-colored Rockies.

After our services concluded, the family headed to Timberline Craft Kitchen to continue the celebration with dinner. ​

Sweet Elopement Details & Ideas

The Florals. Our exclusive florist designed Stephanie’s stunning bouquet, a creative and organic arrangement of fresh blooms, greenery, and grasses sourced from local floral farms. The boutonniere and cake florals complemented the bouquet perfectly, enhancing the natural beauty of their celebration, and pulling their style together. 

The Cake. Stephanie and Dusty’s cake was crafted by a local French bakery, featuring a one-tier European-style sponge cake adorned with florals and appliqués. Their chosen flavor: Strawberry Duchess which is a white cake with strawberry liqueur and mousse filling. It was as beautiful as it was delicious.  YUMMMM!

• Dances in the mountains: After their vows, the couple shared beautiful dances with their guests right at the ceremony site—a touch that added even more joy to the day.
• Self-Solemnization: One of the advantages of eloping in Colorado is the ability to legally self-solemnize, meaning no officiant is required. It allowed Stephanie and Dusty to craft a ceremony that reflected their love and commitment. ​
